The Focused Eye with VIPArts with Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton and Marcell Murphy
Back by popular demand! For most humans, sight is our dominant sense. Color, shape, space, and form help us to better understand the world around us. And while writing may be not be a visual medium in the same way painting or sculpture is, image is still deeply important in crafting compelling work. This workshop takes a deeper dive into the use of image as a catalyst for memory and experience. From crafting ekphrastic work to reliving childhood memories, this workshop will help you build your unique voice as an observer and responder to the world around you. Work with seasoned writer Marcell Murphy and Houston's Third Poet Laureate Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton, and in four weeks watch your truest voice emerge. This workshop is being presented in conjunction with VIP Arts Houston.
