Benjy's is an upscale, casual restaurant in Rice Village was reinvented after being a popular hotspot with trendy Houstonians.
Open and airy, this two-story eatery is sleek and feels calm with pops of teal and jade. Wood elements run throughout with two-toned floors and light birch walls. Neighborhood regulars and modern 30-somethings can sit clustered around the bar sipping specialty cocktails from bar manager, Shannon Beehner, after a hard day at work.
The menu is a creative twist on “social food” and features small, medium and large plates that are meant to be shared among friends. Small plates include Hamachi with cucumber water and candied olives, Smoked Trout Roe with cauliflower cream and potato and beef chips. Medium plates include Sea Urchin Carbonara with leek, squid ink bucatini and Lamb Bolognese with mint and pappardelle pasta. If you are feeling extra famished, go for the large section with dishes like Pork Belly Lettuce Cups or the Smokes Bone Broth with Blood Bros BBQ dumplings. Benjy’sl offers an infamous happy hour during the week and one of the best brunches in town on the weekend.
