Burgers so good they had to stop the bus. Bernie’s Burger Bus now has a reserved parking space at its second brick and mortar location in the Heights, which means there’s no need to chase down the bright yellow bus to sink your teeth into a juicy burger. For loyal students of the food truck movement, Bernie’s still offers plenty of bus stops around town at their mobile locations.
Bernie’s prides itself on its “from scratch” philosophy, starting with hand-ground Angus beef, to homemade condiments and local artisanal bread. No preservatives or fillers allowed.
“Core Classes” on the menu include tasty items like Study Hall, decked with cheddar cheese, homemade BBQ sauce and crispy seared slow braised pork belly, and Detention, complete with Applewood smoked bacon grill cheeses (and that’s just the bun!) with two beef patties, “tipsy” onions and all the fixings.
Order a variety of fries from the “Extracurricular” portion of the menu. Choose from traditional hand-cut, sweet potato, truffle-laced, blue cheese, chili cheese or Honor Roll fries served with BBQ brisket, crispy bacon, BBQ sauce, cheddar and green onions.
The restaurant is open 7 days a week 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (and 9:30 pm on Friday and Saturday).
