Berryhill Baja Grill had its humble beginnings as a tamale cart in the late 1920s. Walter Berryhill's famous tex-mex flavors have since spread across Houston with 9 locations and even 2 locations in Mexico. You know it’s good Tex-Mex if a successful Mexican restauranteur imports Texas-born tacos and tamales south of the border.
Located in West University, the restaurant offers a variety of fresh salads, tamales, fajitas, chips and dips, burritos, award-winning margaritas, and breakfast tacos and migas. Berryhill can even claim that it introduced fish tacos to the world of Tex-Mex. Their original tempura fried fish is topped with red cabbage, the Berryhill special sauce, and cilantro. Finish it all off with homemade tres leches or fresh chocolate chip cookies. Be sure to stop by the bar for regular drink specials, local beers and wine, a shot bar, and extensive tequila menu. Berryhill’s original silver frozen margarita has been named one of the best in the city by The Daily Meal and various other publications.
Berryhill Baja Grill also offers catering and taco truck options for private events.
