Check into an upscale barbecue experience when you visit Pappa's Delta Blues Smokehouse, the latest concept in the Pappas Restaurants portfolio. Located off the Gulf Freeway, near Baybrook Mall in Webster, Pappas Delta Blues serves what the company calls ‘elevated barbecue’ – which includes brisket from Creekstone Farms and USDA Prime ribeye.
But when it comes to pleasing your palette, those meats are just the start. Described as “Southern classic meets sophisticated barbecue,” the menu teems with comfort fare and down-home favorites such as fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese and crispy buttermilk fried chicken. Jumbo lump crab and BBQ brisket cake, Mississippi catfish served blackened with chile lime butter and smoked Berkshire pork belly are also some of the made-from-scratch recipes you can expect during a trip to Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse. Those pining for a more traditional barbecue plate can still find it in dishes like the beef ribs and smoked chicken.
Wash it all down with selections from the extensive drink menu, which focuses on beer, wine, American whiskey and cocktails. A few examples of what you can sip from the full-service bar include the Luckenbach Shandy made with Rittenhouse 100 Bonded rye whiskey, lemon, white peach and St. Arnold’s Art Car IPA as well as the Strawberry Habanero Mule featuring Tito’s vodka, strawberry, lime, mint, habanero and ginger beer.
While you’re down in the Delta, sweeten the deal with a Mississippi Mudslide – a dessert wrapped up in Devil’s Food, mocha cream, hot fudge and a marshmallow slide, off the lunch menu. Feast in a table-service setting that can accommodate after-work dinner plans or a late-night rendezvous on the weekends: the restaurant is open until 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
