Part bistro, part bar, part lounge, Emmaline is the new neighbor hotspot in the Montrose area. Inspired by iconic places like The Ivy in West Hollywood, designer Ashley Putnam created a welcoming space with floor to ceiling windows with Instagram-worthy views of the Houston skyline, a garden room and an upstairs deck perfect for enjoying specialty cocktails.
Executive chef Dimitri Voutsinas conceived the menu that can best be described as American with a European twist. Starters include dishes like local burrata with basil and black garlic, sea scallop carpaccio and creamy fontina fondue. For the main dishes, diners can choose from entrees from seafood cioppino; to wood -roasted pork with fennel apple sauce and root vegetables; to a vegan dish of stuffed peppers with smoked farro, currants, pine nuts and other ancient grains.
For those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth, Pastry chef Alyssa Dole, formerly of Cherry Pie Hospitaltiy and Coltivare, created decadent desserts like an espresso-dark chocolate torta and a banana gelato split with nuts and fresh berries that is sure to please everyone.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until midnight.
