Eugene’s Gulf Coast Cuisine, formerly known as Danton’s Gulf Coast Kitchen, comes from Kyle Teas who originally opened the latter more than a decade ago in Chelsea Market. Luckily, the menu and amicable staff have followed to the new location offering Southern hospitality all the way.
Eugene’s space is warm and inviting. The 4,600-square-foot restaurant is comfortable and a renewed take on the traditional fine-dining experience. Family photos adorn the walls with décor restored from Sonny Look’s Sirlion Inn and an ornate bar from Joske’s.
Fans of Danton’s Gulf Coast Kitchen will be relieved when they see the menu. Many favorites are still available like Kyle’s Crab Salad; classic gumbo; debris sandwich; and wild-caught Gulf fish such as red snapper, ling, mahi and grouper. Eugene’s vibrant Oyster Bar offers beer, wine, and specialty cocktails like the New Orleans-inspired Hurricane Clare.
