Ginger & Fork aims to bring authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food to Houston’s already diverse culinary scene. Owner Mary Li has been perfecting her extensive menu since she was cooking alongside her mother in her native Hong Kong. Since moving to Houston in 1984, Li has worked at iconic Houston restaurants like Tony Mandola’s. But it was always her dream to open her own restaurant.
Ginger & Fork introduces authentic Chinese ingredients and flavors to Houston diners – all recipes created by Li. Some of our favorite dishes include the lightly fried Cantonese spicy squid, steamed seabass in a savory soybean sauce, and gai lan broccoli. You may also opt for the highly regarded bone brittle flounder. You can’t go wrong with any of the amazingly delectable dishes on the menu. Chef Sammy Li (no relation) formerly worked as chef of the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong for 15 years before joining the team.
The restaurant also offers an extensive wine and craft cocktail menu and bar seating. The expansive backyard patio features a fire pit and comfortable plush furniture. Ginger & Fork also offers a Sunday brunch from 10:30 am- 3:30 pm and catering services.
