In a city that has long buoyed the bigger is better mantra, Houston’s Hotel Alessandra aims to reverse tradition with intimate intrigue. The twenty-story, 223-room building, which occupies a prime site in downtown Houston’s pedestrian-oriented GreenStreet development, opened fall 2017.
Ideal for business, given the immediate proximity to Fortune 500 companies, court houses and the recently revitalized convention district with its new Avenida gateway fronting Discovery Green, Alessandra’s central position on the METRORail line also provides easy access to points of interest ranging from The Texas Medical Center and NRG Park to Rice University, The University of Houston, Hermann Park, the Houston Museum District and the Houston Zoo.
With an unassuming and contemporary exterior, guests will be pleasantly surprised once inside. The modern jewel box dazzles with grand marble staircase, vaulted ceilings, sepia mirrored walls and decorative stone floors. A color scheme of gallery white, graphite, gold and jade green is repeated throughout the property.
Not one but two public spaces include Bardot, which will serve as a posh getaway for house-baked pastries, freshly squeezed juices and barista made coffees in the morning, followed by sophisticated sips and small bites in the afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, Lucienne presents skyline views of the city for daily breakfast, lunch and dinner.
