Located in the Museum District, visitors can say “Aloha” to Java Lava Brew, a brunch, lunch, dinner and coffee shop serving food inspired by Houston, Hawaii and Vietnam based on its owners’ backgrounds.
The spot serves 100% Kona coffee grown and hand-picked from the owner’s farm. Brunch-goers have lots of options to pair with their coffee including omelettes, a chicken croissandwich and kolaches. Those dining in the later hours can try the shop’s famous volcano salad, fish and chips and kona beef skewers or opt for the banh mi and big kahuna burger. Houston friends with a sweet tooth must try the Hawaiian bread pudding. Of course, there is also wine, beer on tap and cocktails.
Guests are invited to sit indoors in the Hawaiian-themed restaurant or on the quaint patio complete with outdoor seating and a television for game-watching.
