After helping launch Downtown’s Batanga in 2013 and later manning the stoves at nearby Prohibition Supperclub & Bar, Ben McPherson struck out on his own in 2017 with a fast-casual chicken concept named Krisp Bird & Batter. The Galleria-area venture spotlights a chef-driven mix of poultry items in everything from crispy sandwiches, chicken strips and salads.
Located in a strip center space that most recently served as home to Subway, the team behind Krisp has transformed the interior and exterior with cool, contemporary touches. White tile walls and wood-wrapped panels blend with bold orange accents and graphic typography installations. On the menu, antibiotic and hormone-free chicken from Crystal Ranch Farms shines in everything from KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and Southwest Chicken sandwiches to kale Caesar salads and a chicken & waffle combo.
Krisp Bird & Batter is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily.
