Banh-mi lovers rejoice flock to the original Les Givral’s Sandwich & Cafe in Midtown for its famous French-Vietnamese fare.
Set in a small strip center on Milam in the heart of old Chinatown, the restaurant isn’t very big but it definitely fills up around lunchtime. Get a delicious banh-mi with pate for under $4. Add fresh-made shrimp spring rolls for just a couple bucks more. Pho and vermicelli dishes are also popular.
The interior seating is limited but there are a few tables out front if al fresco is your thing.
The food at Les Givral is solid, but if you’re coming for lunch it’s best to get there before 11:45 or wait til after 1 as the orders can really back up.
