Two Houston restauranteurs have teamed up to bring Midtown an eclectic BBQ hangout spot. Veteran chef Eric Aldis of The Marque and Corner Table and pitmaster Brett Jackson of Taylor, TX’s Louie Mueller Barbecue aim to bring the best locally sourced meats to their custom smokers with Midtown Barbecue.
The former Bourbon on Bagby location will specialize in traditional Hill Country-style meats like brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken, and sausage all homemade by Black Hill Meats ranch. Midtown BBQ’s menu will also feature smoked fish with chimichurri sauce, shrimp, oysters, leg of lamb with Greek yogurt, and a bar full of local beers. Sides include items like french fries fried in brisket fat and homemade pickles.
The restaurant will also sell replicas of their smoker for aspiring pitmasters to practice at home. True to Texas BBQ tradition, Midtown Barbecue will cook until they run out of fresh meat for the day - so show up early!
