Nola Poboys, New Orleans’ fast-casual Cajun concept, expanded to the Houston market in early 2017. Co-founded by Murray Tate, the venture launched following Hurricane Katrina, when many of the Louisiana city’s restaurants were unable to reopen following the storm. Tate found himself selling poboys out of a warehouse space using a fryer and plastic card table to kick start his business. Today, Nola Poboys has expanded its menu with more than 45 varieties of sandwiches.
In Houston, find the company’s creations along Old Spanish Trail in the shadow of NRG Stadium. There, customers line-up for counter service, selecting from starters like boudin balls, crawfish bisque and salad, before moving on to the main course. Cold, hot and seafood poboys line the menu in everything from classic roast beef to fried crawfish or pot roast varieties.
Nola Poboys is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
