After a series of delays, Heights residents were elated to welcome Charles Bishop and Taylor Lee Pax’s Texas-inspired restaurant, Presidio, in early 2017. Set along 11th Street, the spot highlights the culinary talent of Chef Adam Dorris (formerly of Pax Americana), who sends out salads, sandwiches and reimagined regional classics.
Even before guests enter the restaurant, the modern mix of hanging planters, beds of crushed black granite and succulents alludes to the hip vibe ahead. Snag a seat in the industrial dining room or hold out for a table on the patio where twinkle lights, ferns and other greenery add to the appeal. Near the back, diners find a stage, which showcases local live music acts. On the menu, craft cocktails like the Bright & Sunny (a grapefruit, spiced rum and ginger beer concoction) share space with approachable items like the free-range chicken wings, roast beef sandwich and ranch burger. Beer aficionados will appreciate the 24 regional and national varieties on tap.
Presidio is open Tuesday through Sunday.
