One of Houston’s most elegant dining establishments, Restaurant Cinq combines modern European cuisine with Texas Creole accents. The restaurant inside the graceful La Colombe d’Or Hotel was rebranded as Cinq in 2010, getting a new look and an entirely new menu from the original French-dominated fare.
There are classics aplenty on the menu, such as filet mignon and foie gras. But you’ll want to try different selections, such as the braised octopus, the three chili-rubbed pork tenderloin and the red snapper with lump crabmeat and tomato compote.
Rivaling the spectacular food is the atmosphere. At Cinq you can pick from five distinct dining settings, including the outdoor terrace and the much praised main dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is relaxed, quiet and stylish, making it the perfect place to seal a business deal or enjoy a romantic evening. There’s also the Library and the hotel bar for those looking for an afternoon or post-dinner respite.
