The green restaurant concept, Ruggles Green, continues to expand, this time in Sugar Land. Located in the Sugar Land Town Square, the locally-owned restaurant opened its doors in September 2012. The owners started the eatery with the goal of being the highest-rated sustainable restaurant in Texas.
This location embodies the original concept in full with its use of green building materials such as nontoxic paint, bamboo booths and energy-efficient lighting. Plus, the biz makes an effort to reduce is carbon footprint by recycling 65 percent of its total waste output.
Expect locally-grown, all-natural fare that’s in line with the offerings at the original River Oaks location: spicy fish tacos, warm goat cheese salads, lean buffalo burgers and wood-fired pizzas.
