South Bank Seafood Bar opened just outside downtown in the space formerly occupied by The Refinery Burgers and Whiskey, bringing a little seaside to the city. The 10,000-square-foot space, which touts a huge patio, two bars and TVs indoors and out, is a concept by Eighty Six’d Hospitality, which also owns Bovine & Barley, Rose Gold, The Fish, and HTX Fan Tavern.
Whether you’re looking for a place to relax after work, on the weekend, or to catch a sports game, South Bank’s a good place to be. Take a seat at one of the picnic tables in its climate controlled patio and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail while you take in the unobstructed view of Houston’s skyline.
The seafood driven menu, created by Eight Six’d executive chef Harold Wong, includes fish tacos, lobster rolls, raw oysters, lobster quesadillas, and shrimp and crab campechana. Those who want something other than seafood will find The Refinery burger a good choice. South Bank also has a well stocked bar that offers local beers on tap and in bottles, as well as a number of cocktails on tap, including Watermelon Fresca, Strawberry Mule and Sex On The Beach.
