If Les Givral’s Kahve and Jenni’s Noodle House had a Japanese cousin, we imagine it would look a little something like west Houston’s new SushiPop.
Set in the sprawling Bunker Hill/I-10 strip-center megaplex—near H-E-B, El Rey and Gengis Grill— SushiPop opened in August 2010 pairing a modern, clean-lined space with well-priced combos, rolls and noodle dishes. The spot also touts daily-changing specials with everything from spicy tuna tacos and seafood wraps to sushi burritos and crispy chicken salads.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by digital menu screens and counter-service ordering, as well as a case filled with authentic Japanese beverages, sake and beer. On the restaurant’s far wall, just past the soft drink station, is a frozen yogurt machine, cranking out complimentary, post-dinner desserts.
Head there for lunch and dinner daily, as well as happy hour pricing Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
