History at its Best
Texas History is alive and well in historic Richmond and the adjacent town of Rosenberg. Richmond was founded by many notables from the Texas Old 300 Settlers. Several are buried in the old Morton Cemetery -- among them are Mirabeau Lamar, the 2nd President of the Republic of Texas and Jane Long, who was know as the Mother of Texas. The George Ranch Historical Park, The Fort Bend County Museum and The Railroad Museum present wonderful pictures of Texas's past.
