Those looking for a taste of Cajun Country near downtown Houston will find the real thing at The Cajun Stop restaurant.
Launched several years ago by a New Orleans native, Cajun Stop serves up authentic po-boys, from wet roast beef to the perfect fried oyster. The EaDo neighborhood eatery just a few blocks from the George R. Brown Convention Center is simple with few thrills, but it's knowing clientele is loyal.
The Cajun Stop starts with fresh baked French bread and great seafood. The various sized po-boys are all overstuffed, assuring you won't leave this place hungry. The restaurant also offers other Louisiana favorites including gumbo and red beans and rice, as well as some interesting sides like fried rice and french fries topped with melted cheese.
The Cajun Stop has gotten a number of kudos for its version of the po-boy, including an award from the Houston Press. Catering is also available.
