Jack Doyle, aka "The Gorgeous Gael", was a young Irishman who left his home country to become a household name as a heavyweight-boxing contender, an actor and a beautiful tenor on both sides of the Atlantic.
Today, his legacy continues in Houston’s Rice Village at The Gorgeous Gael Bar. Created by Doyle’s friends, Peter Kingston and David Roche, the spot aims to bring a new Irish bar concept to America. Located along Morningside Drive, the spot deviates from the traditional Irish bar set up, in favor of a sharper and more modern design, as well as a strong emphasis on food. Guests can expect live music, a well-edited Whiskey line up and spacious patio, as well as hearty bites like short ribs, Guinness stout burgers and Harp cheddar dip.
The Gorgeous Gael is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
