For more than three decades, Tony Mandola’s has been a Houston landmark for Coastal Seafood, with both Cajun and Italian influences. The menu is inspired by recipes from Mama Grace Mandola and Mama Ninfa Laurenzo, the matriarchs of two Houston restaurant dynasties. Signature dishes include New Orleans Gumbo and Snapper Martha.
The Houston restaurateur and chef began his career at the legendary Ninfa’s on Navigation in 1973.
The 6,700 square foot restaurant has a New Orleans feel, with Southern ambiance. It is centrally located between Midtown and River Oaks, with access to Downtown, the Galleria, and the Medical Center.
The restaurant features a true New Orleans courtyard, with wrought iron gates, gas lamps, a fountain, and overhead lighting for nighttime dining. The main dining area is tiled in marble, accentuated by the large floor to ceiling windows that overlook the flower filled patio. The bar is comprised of light copper glass tiles and wrought iron shelves. An extensive wine list, and a selection of cigars, compliments Tony Mandola’s signature cuisine.
With a seating capacity of 225, the restaurant can be bought out for large events. A private banquet room is also available, complete full Audio/Video capabilities for presentations.
Mandola has been serving prominent Texans and celebrities for years, including former President and Mrs. George H.W. Bush, former Astros greats Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio, Al Pacino, Steve Martin, Paula Abdul and many, many others.
