HOUSTON (March 1, 2018) — Comicpalooza, Texas’ largest pop culture festival, will return to the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) for its 10th anniversary on Memorial Day weekend – Friday, May 25 through Sunday, May 27. Continuing in its tradition of rich and diverse programming, the curated tracks and special events cover a wide range of pop culture interests; a robust gaming experience; a budding film festival; comic book professionals, including publishers, writers, and artists; artist alley, dealer’s room, Maker’s Space and interactive displays on the exhibit floor; popular cosplay competitions; and entertainment throughout the weekend. More is promised in celebration of the 10th anniversary.

The latest guest announced is Patrick Warburton whose resume extends from popular sitcoms to animated series. Beyond his notable role as ‘David Puddy’ on Seinfeld, Warburton cemented his popularity with comic book fans in his title role of the live-action version of ‘The Tick’ in the early 2000s. Throughout his career, Warburton’s voice can be heard on prominent animated series including ‘Family Guy,’ ‘The Venture Bros.’ ‘Archer’ and ‘Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated,’ among others. He is currently cast as Lemony Snicket in Netflix’ ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events.’

Joining Warburton is Ross Marquand of ‘The Walking Dead’, Edward James Olmos of ‘Miami Vice’ and ‘Battlestar Galactica’, as well as Orlando Jones of ‘American Gods’, alongside Henry Ian Cusick, James Marsters, Michael Emerson, Jimmie Walker, and George Lowe.

Other notable talent added to the list include an impressive comic book lineup featuring Skottie Young, who is known for his illustrations of fan-favorite characters like Spider-Man, the Avengers, Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, Magneto, and the X-Men; and Ryan Ottley, who is known for illustrating Robert Kirkman’s “Invicible,” as well as penciling the first five issues of “Haunt” by Kirkman and Todd McFarlane. The remaining comic book talent include Paul Pope, Nick Pitarra, Daniel Warren Johnson, Vita Ayala and Rafer Roberts.

Last year, Comicpalooza welcomed more than 45,000 fans and featured more than 1,000 hours of programming over the three-day event. Highlights from the 2017 program included an interactive gaming area, sponsored by Six Foot; the annual cosplay competition, sponsored by BBVA Compass; and special appearances by Chuck Norris; Marvel heroes Anthony Mackie, Jon Bernthal, Mike Colter and Finn Jones; ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ stars Jason David Frank and Amy Jo Johnson; and popular authors Jim Butcher and Lev Grossman, among many others.
