HOUSTON - February 04, 2014 - The Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau has won the 2013 Marketer of the Year award in the category of Economic Development for its Houston Is national ad campaign.
GHCVB Marketer of the Year for 2013 in Economic Develop categoryThe Houston Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA Houston) presents the Marketer of the Year (MOTY) awards annually. Twenty-six different organizations picked up awards for 2013 out of a total of 120 nominated companies, organizations and institutions.
The Houston Is national ad campaign launched on February 14, 2013 in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. The GHCVB's entry was judged on the organization's campaign objective, strategy, process, execution and effectiveness.
"We couldn't be more proud to receive this honor for our work in marketing Houston to the world," says Sonia Garza-Monarchi, Chair of the GHCVB Board of Directors. "Telling the story of a city as diverse as Houston is a big responsibility and we believe our campaign rose to the occasion by showcasing some of the best attributes of the city in an authentic way. We worked with the community to build Houston Is and share this award with everyone who gave of their time to make it happen."
