WHAT: Houston First presents the city’s first annual Houston Urban Experience (HUE) Mural Festival celebrating Houston’s diverse arts community. The seven-day festival will feature 70 artists including COPE2 (New York, NY), RISK (Los Angeles, CA), INDIE184 (New York, NY), REAL TRES (Monterrey, Mexico), ANAT RONEN (Houston, TX) and many more from around the world, transforming Houston’s cityscape from concrete to color.

Artists will have approximately 170 hours to create their designs using various forms of tools, techniques and styles of mural art including graffiti, muralism, paint brush work, airbrush, roller brush, wheat paste and stencil. Once complete, the murals will cover 17 walls throughout EADO, East End and Washington Avenue Arts Districts, totaling approximately 17,000 sq. ft. of wall space within a 17 mile roundtrip around the city.

Throughout the festival, visitors are invited to visit the art-in-progress through guided tours or utilize a Map App for self-guided tours. Docents will be available at each mural site to provide information about the artists and artwork. Guests will also enjoy live music, pop-up food trucks and St. Arnolds Brewery pop ups at select mural site open houses, and more. Additional information can be found at
