Blacksmith

Greenway Coffee and Tea owners David Buehrer and Ecky Prabanto partnered with the owners of Underbelly and The Hay Merchant to develop Blacksmith, a coffee shop, on Lower Westheimer.

According to Buehrer, Blacksmith reflects a kindred spirit among baristas and the antiquated laborers who sought to craft something by hand with uncompromising quality and attention to detail. The duo's most recent endeavor, the roasting company Greenway Coffee, plays an integral role in the shop. Blacksmith's baristas hail from around the country (New York City, New Orleans, Grand Rapids and Seattle), as well as from Houston. Although the spot caters to the everyday, coffee-on-the-way-to-work crowd with a full menu of traditional coffee shop offerings, guests that want to spend a little more time at the Montrose-set venture will also find an expanded, sit-down menu on offer.

Blacksmith is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
