Sky Art Winner 2018

Houston First, in collaboration with OutFront Media, is helping to beautify Houston’s skyline via outdoor billboards.  The Sky Art project is designed to fill vacant outdoor space with creative works of art that authentically reflects Houston’s brand as the inspired city that is the, “Culinary and Cultural Capital of the South.”

The 2018 Sky Art board creative winners have been selected.  Look for the new art to be posted around the city starting in April.

Thank you to the many artists who submitted, and please check back for the 2019 call for entries.

Sky Art - Houston Is Love

Houston Is Love

By: Hector Guerra
Website: http://www.hautedogart.com/

I am a local artist and native Houstonian.

Self taught, incorporating rich vibrant colors and patterns is always rewarding. I never know where the piece will take me. The progress is very organic despite that it is all created digitally. I believe my influence was in admiring the colorful stained glass windows of churches I attended as a child and also by the "in your face" pop style of comic book art that I so love. Exploring the streets of Houston with camera in hand provides me with plenty of inspiration that always finds it's way into my work.
