New York and Los Angeles’ blow-dry craze has made its way to Houston in the form of native Houstonian Rebecca Tallerine’s Blow Dry Bar. Located across from Lamar High School, the beautifying concept opened in spring 2011, providing busy babes with a place to have their hair professionally styled without premium salon prices.
Inside, pale wood floors blend with fresh white fixtures, light granite counters and soft, blue accents, all of which lend to the space’s freshly-feminine vibe. Choose from a menu touting playful styles like the curl-laden ‘On the Rocks,’ the ‘Smooth’ and the ‘Shaken,’ the latter of which is a wavy and messy look. For $20, clients can even upgrade to Top Shelf treatments like the Kevin Murphy Born Again hair masque or The Ultimate—a shine-restoring serum.
Blowouts are $35 and generally take 30 to 45 minutes. The biz is open Monday through Saturday. Call ahead to make an appointment or book online.
