Building off its reputation for sizzling steaks, Ruth’s Chris Steak House moved to a new location in the heart of Uptown in summer 2013.
Set just a few blocks west of the Galleria, the new glass-lined restaurant offers a more open and modern take on the traditional, heavily-wooded steakhouse. The nearly 10,000-square-foot space designed by Harrell Architects and Beth Donner Design offers three private dining rooms in addition to its main dining room.
The restaurant's signature is serving USDA Prime steaks that are seared at 1800° F and served on ceramic plates heated to 500° F. Half an ounce of butter is added just before the plates leave the kitchen in order to create the signature 'sizzle'. Founder Ruth Fertel firmly believed that the success of her steaks was due as much to the sound and smell of the 'sizzle' as well as the taste.
For decades, Ruth’s Chris has been a leader among national steakhouse chains. The company now operates more than 135 restaurants around the world.
