Three Brothers Bakery - Memorial
Houston, TX 77024
For nearly 200 years the Jucker family has been in the baking biz. The tradition started in Poland in the 1820s, stopped when the family was sent to Nazi concentration camps in 1941 and revived on Houston’s Holman Street in May 1949. Ever since, the family has been busy serving their famous eastern European style breads, cakes and pastries to loyal Houstonians at their Three Brothers Bakery.
Though the business relocated a few times throughout the years, even closed for 10 months because of wind and water damage caused by Hurricane Ike. But today, it holds strong at its Braeswood store, as well as its Memorial City location, which opened in spring 2012.
Faithful followers flock to the full-service bakery for rye breads, famous challah (egg bread), biales and bagles. The spot also serves up New York-style black and white cookies, gingerbread, pastries, sinfully-sweet cakes and party trays.
