"Dr. Seuss," whose real-life name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, is best known for his children's books written under the "Dr. Seuss" pen name, but he was a life-long cartoonist who also drafted more than 400 newspaper and magazine editorial cartoons expressing his concern and opinions in the early years of World War II.

“Never Let It Rest!” is a documentary art project by contemporary German artist Hans Molzberger relating to the small town of Salzwedel in the Saxony-Anhalt region of Germany during the time of Nazi control. Today, Molzberger lives near the town and continues to be fascinated with its history. He will speak during a free public preview reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009.

John Chamberlain – American Tableau

"John Chamberlain: American Tableau" is the third in The Menil Collection series, “Contemporary Conversations,” which highlights work by living artists in the collection. The series aims to work with the artist to focus on a specific aspect or time period of their production. American Tableau will present a single large-scale sculpture as a room-size installation accompanied by rare examples of the artist’s drawings.

Henrique Oliveira's Tapumes

Oliveira’s installations, which he refers to as “tridimensionals,” have evolved into massive, spatial constructions that combine painting, architecture, and sculpture. The constants in Oliveira’s work are the visual and tactile qualities of wood that has been exposed to the elements, and though he incorporates new, flexible plywood into his work, his primary material remains the discarded wood collected on the streets of São Paulo.
