Thompson Houston by Hyatt - Opened February 2024

Houston now has a gorgeous and modern 36-story Thompson Houston hotel overlooking the Buffalo Bayou Park in the Historic Fourth Ward area. These 172 mid-modern century boutique hotel rooms, including 34 suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, boast stunning views of the Houston skyline. Visit the full-service spa or check out one of the city's largest rooftop pool decks. A ballroom holds up to 500 guests and serves as an excellent space for weddings or other celebrations. Dine at the seventh floor bar and lounge, or at nearby restaurants Flora on Allen Parkway or Bludorn in Montrose nearby. Moxy Houston Downtown - Opened December 2023


The Moxy is the newest lifestyle brand by Marriott to come to Houston. With an industrial chic and polished concrete aesthetic, branding itself as modern, stylish, and energetic, other descriptors for this hotel from the creator's vision include "high energy" and "off the wall". Located on 412 Main Street in the bar row area of Downtown Houston, by Market Square Park, Theatre District, Houston Aquarium, and Minute Maid Park. Check in at Bar Moxy, where you receive a complimentary signature cocktail with your room key. In the lobby, play some pool or ping-pong, or better yet, ride the mechanical bull named Tex or check out live music on the nearby scene.

Hotel Vesper - Opened October 2023

The newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Medical Center Hotel & Suites is adjacent to the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center and is in the heart of the largest medical complex, Texas Medical Center. The hotel offers 297 guestrooms with the majority being queen/queen rooms, and half of the hotel being suites with full kitchen and kitchenettes. It is ideal for extended stays. The hotel has washers/dryers onsite, a fitness center, an outdoor heated pool, an onsite restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with in-room dining service.

JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria - Completed 2023

Located within Houston’s thriving uptown epicenter, JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria completed in 2023 the last multi-million dollar renovation phase of the guest rooms, suites and corridors to finalize the hotel’s transformation. The enhancements join the refreshed meeting and public spaces, lobby and executive lounge which were finished in 2019. The revamped spaces reflect thoughtful design choices by Parker-Torres Design that represent Houston’s rich history and culture, while creating intentional transitions throughout the hotel’s interior. Attention was given to creating spaces that enhance the guest experience while also evoking a warm and welcoming environment. Other notable changes in the guest rooms include new 55-inch televisions and upgraded bedding options from double beds to double queen beds. The transformation provides leisure and business travelers with luxurious accommodations in a refreshing environment.

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa - Completed 2023

Trellis Spa - The Houstonian

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa completed its $70 million project to enhance the luxury lifestyle experiences across the property. The Houstonian sits on 27 acres at 111 N. Post Oak Lane in the Uptown/Galleria area. Freshly renovated areas include completely remodeled guest rooms and suites, a new Bush Suite, an “enhanced arrival experience”, and a refreshed hotel lobby. The fitness club debuted new group exercise studios, a cycling studio, expanded childcare areas, and a new full-service restaurant and bar with indoor/outdoor adult and family-friendly dining. Trellis Spa was completed in February 2020. It is now the largest luxury spa in Texas at 26,500 square feet. The highlight of this expansion is a new outdoor Soaking Pools & Garden area.

Four Seasons Hotel Houston - Completed April, 2022

The iconic hotel in Downtown celebrated its 40th anniversary in April 2022 with the completion of its multi-year, multi-million dollar transformation. It included enhancing the lobby and front drive, The Spa and Fitness Center, and the addition of Bayou & Bottle, Bayou & Bean, and the Topgolf Swing Suites. All 289 guest rooms and 103 suites were transformed, with the design inspiration nodding to big Texas skies and the hotel’s lobby, known as “Houston’s Living Room.” The hotel’s 12 specialty suites were elevated with a soothing color palette and design appeal. Toro Toro, an award-winning pan-Latin steakhouse from chef partner Richard Sandoval, was opened, as well as Bandista, an intimate, modern-day speakeasy reminiscent of a 1920s lounge that dazzles with a decadent Latin vibe. The hotel’s 16,500 square feet of event space was reimagined entirely, and a new Grand Ballroom with 150 percent more gathering space was created.

Hotel Granduca

Hotel Granduca, a 122-room all-suite hotel with Italian-inspired decor located in Uptown Park, has changed ownership and will undergo extensive renovations beginning in 2024, including the design, guest experience, amenity package, and food and beverage program. The ground floor will be transformed into a vibrant gathering place with a destination restaurant. Enlarged and improved event spaces, new workout facilities, and curated programming will cater to discerning clientele looking for a boutique hospitality ambiance that stands apart from what is offered by major hotel groups.

The Moran CityCentre

The Moran Hotel CityCentre - Houstonians and visitors will soon be able to experience The Moran CityCentre with a modern Texas-inspired aesthetic. A full renovation of the hotel’s 244 guest rooms is already complete, including updated furnishings, premium bedding, contemporary lighting fixtures, and cutting-edge technology enhancements. Now, the renovation aims to enhance the guest experience and includes a reimagined hotel entrance, lobby, and front desk. The redesigned meeting areas and a new lobby bar with a lively patio overlooking the mixed-use development’s central plaza will reshape communal areas. The project is scheduled for completion in late summer 2024.

Upcoming/Under Construction

Hotel St. Augustine (late 2024) - a 71-room hotel built by the Menil Collection, located between Richmond and West Alabama, in an area devoid of other hotel options.

Holiday Inn & Staybridge Suites dual hotel (late 2025)—Opening on 1319 Texas Avenue, within walking distance of George R. Brown, it will have 275 rooms and a grocery store, a scarce resource in Downtown Houston.
