Known as one of the more tasteful Tex-Mex restaurants in the city, Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen is now bringing its mix of margarita-fueled fun and upscale casual dining to Houston's West University. The local restaurant chain run by the offspring of the famed wrestler Jesus “Cyclone Anaya” Valencia is bringing more of its traditional tastiness to its fifth location.
At West University, you can expect the same kind of service and attention to culinary detail you’ve come to expect from Cyclone’s. Bold margaritas; chunky, fresh-made guacamole; and flavorful ceviche are the order of the day here. Entrees include surprises like lobster enchiladas, but Tex-Mex standards like carne asada, tamales, fajitas, enchiladas and hearty combo plates are crowd favorites. The flautas de pollo are delectable and you should definitely try to the enchiladas Florentine filled with lump crabmeat, Mexican cheeses and fresh spinach and topped with Cyclone’s special chardonnay cream sauce.
