The Houston Roughnecks is one of the eight original teams of the XFL, a fan-first football league that began in 2020. The Roughnecks play in a 10-week regular season complete with 11-on-11, 100 yard games that boast common sense rule changes and minimized downtime.
The Houston Roughnecks play against teams from Seattle, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Washington, D.C. The Roughnecks participate in a Texas Throwdown with in-state rivals the Dallas Renegades.
The team plays its home games at TDECU Stadium, located in south central Houston at the University of Houston. The stadium hosts parking for more than 3,000 vehicles and guests can also arrive by METRORail’s Southeast Line. Stellar views of the Houston skyline can be witnessed from the northwest corner of the stadium. The stadium also hosts 26 suites and 42 loge boxes.
