With its expansive outdoor space, relaxing atmosphere, and food inspired by Texas road trips, Chef Ryan Hildebrand’s FM Kitchen and Bar is a welcome addition to the Washington Corridor. Named after Farm-To-Market roads, this modern but casual neighborhood spot brings together the best of Houston. From murals by local street artist Daniel Anguilu to the local bands that perform in the restaurant’s outdoor stage, Hildebrand has created a place that celebrates Houston’s creativity.
His menu includes a variety of Texas inspired dishes and comfort foods, such as Frito Pie, shrimp and avocado campechana, smoked ribs, and chicken fried steak. The FM Burger, a simple burger topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and Shhhh sauce, is a popular choice. To drink, enjoy a milkshake or choose from a varied selection of craft beers, wines, and signature cocktails on tap.
FM Kitchen’s patio also offers plenty of entertainment, from giant jenga to a ping pong table and other backyard games you can enjoy with friends. Grab a seat at one of their picnic tables and enjoy some food, drink, music, and art in this laid back spot that will make you forget you’re in the midst of a busy intersection.
FM Kitchen and Bar is open everyday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
