What started as a small, family-run food truck in 2008 has grown into one of the most authentic Mexican eateries in Houston. Despite its growth, Karancho’s has kept in touch with its roots. While there is now a full-service patio seating area, meats are still prepared outside on open pits with mesquite wood and the spot remains BYOB.
Once you have one of their famous taco de trompo in front of you, it will be hard not to feel like you just crossed the border. This marinated pork cut off from a rotating spit is hard to find around here and completes Karancho’s menu of tacos de bistec, fajita, burritos, and burgers.
Karancho’s is open Tuesday through Sunday from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m.
