Yunan Yang, the owner of Montrose’s wildly-popular Cooking Girl restaurant, expanded her local reach in September 2016 with Pepper Twins—a country-style Chinese restaurant specializing in organic and gluten free cuisine. Set in the River Oaks area, the concept gives Yang a chance to experiment with Sichuan dishes that weren’t possible in her undersized Montrose space.
Grab your favorite bottle of vino and head to the BYOB restaurant where guests find health-conscious Chinese fare that incorporates Angus certified beef, Berkshire pork and farm-raised chicken and ducks. There, Yang relies on the combination of natural flavors to ensure dishes like the Fish Loves Tofu and Soft Square Bacon stands out.
Pepper Twins is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers its food to go.
