Heights-area sports fans welcomed a new watch-party destination in fall 2016 with the arrival of Providence. The laid back sports bar settled into The Corkscrew’s old location in the neighborhood’s Shady Acres area, offering a casual place to catch games or unwind after work.
Snag a seat on the patio or venture inside, where an eclectic mix of sports gear adds to the ambiance in everything from a tennis racquet installation to old black and white team photos. Flat screen TVs, shuffleboard, ping pong and a handful of arcade games round out the offerings. Settle in at the wrap around bar and order a beer or a daily special that might include anything from cherry cider drafts or naked mojitos to peach teas and well offerings. Feeling hungry? Go for a chopped beef sandwich, smoked pork taco or buffalo mac and cheese.
Providence is open Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., and on Saturday and Sunday, beginning with the first big game of the day, until 2 a.m.
