Downtown's 102-year-old Samuel F. Carter Building was transformed into the 328-room JW Marriott Houston Downtown in summer 2014.
Pearl Hospitality developed the new $81 million, luxury hotel at the corner of Rusk and Main streets. The 22-story JW Marriott brings new energy, ideas and experiences to the city’s hotel scene. The property is artfully curated and lifestyle-inspired -- creating a distinctive atmosphere that’s sensual and sophisticated.
JW includes a full-service restaurant dubbed Main Kitchen, 806 Lounge, as well as a spa, health club, executive lounge and 16,000 square feet of meeting space. Acclaimed Houston Chef Erin Smith will oversee the hotel's culinary operations, including the 120-seat Main Kitchen.
The four-legged Director of Pet Relations, Sir Griffin, greets guests upon arrival at the JW Marriott Houston Downtown. This dapper dog was rescued and now lives out his fun-loving life at the luxury hotel, eagerly welcoming guests both human and furry. Griffin is happy to provide companionship for those traveling without their furry besties, but the super pet-friendly JW Marriott also welcomes personal pets for an additional $75 per pet, per stay.
The JW Marriott Houston Downtown connects you to the city’s very finest offerings – from nightlife to art to sporting events – with a direct connection to the underground tunnel system from the lobby; light rail connections to the George R. Brown Convention Center, Texas Medical Center and NRG Stadium; and easy access to all major highways.
