Dash Experience
Cheer on the hometown team, Houston Dash, Houston’s only women’s professional sports team (and only one of two in Texas!), and see some of the top stars in global women’s soccer at Shell Energy Stadium, close to Downtown. Each game is full of action that never disappoints soccer fans!
During the 2024 season, the team celebrated milestones, beginning with the 10th anniversary in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). They played their first match at Shell Energy Stadium on April 12, 2014, when the team hosted Portland Thorns FC. Since then, Houston Dash secured the club’s first major trophy, the NWSL Challenge Cup, in 2020 and captured their first playoff appearance in 2022.
Matches at Shell Energy Stadium are a great opportunity for families, co-workers, or groups of friends to get together, get a close-up point of play on the pitch and to meet players and grab a selfie post-match. The club also hosts annual theme nights, including Pride Night, Hispanic Heritage Night, and Pups at the Pitch, adding extra layers of celebration and fun for all to enjoy. Whether you are looking for a lively family event or a chance to connect with soccer, coming to a Dash game is an exciting opportunity for a lot of fun!
The Houston Dash Drumline is an integral part of the game-day experience at Shell Energy Stadium. Led by local high school music teachers, this drumline showcases talent but serves as an example of community involvement in the sport. The drumline rallies the crowd, enhances the atmosphere for all, and exemplifies the commitment and enthusiasm of Houston’s soccer culture.
The food scene at Shell Energy Stadium caters to fans of all ages. The stadium features Houston’s famous restaurants, bringing the diverse food scene to the stands, from gourmet tacos, BBQ, classic stadium fare, and even international cuisine that reflects Houston’s rich culture. In 2023, Shell Energy Stadium expanded its culinary offerings thanks to collaborations with Houston chefs like world-renowned chef Hugo Ortega. Ortega leads the match-day culinary program at the stadium in collaboration with well-known hospitality company Levy Restaurants.
