Viva America, Viva Mexico! at Miller

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo at the Miller Outdoor Theater is a great tradition in Houston. This year, everyone is invited to ¡Viva América, Viva México! to delight in the famous Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles, founded in 2011 by Kareli Montoya, and Mariachi Garibaldi by Jaime Cuéllar, founded in 1994. The big Downtown Cinco de Mayo Parade, organized by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC, District VIII), is another great tradition in Houston, celebrating its 28th anniversary this year. The colorful parade begins at 10 a.m. You will love the joyful atmosphere!
East End Street Fest

East End Street Fest 2024, taking place in Houston's East End at Esplanade on Navigation, is a free and vibrant celebration of Mexican and Chicano art, music, and heritage. From 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy various performances, with Mexican dance performances in Plaza de Piñata and Plaza de Luchas, and an area dedicated to children in Plaza de los Ninos. Car and art enthusiasts are in for a treat with the Show & Shine exhibit on Chicano Boulevard. It is a day of cultural immersion, fun, and community spirit.

Cinco de Mayo at the Children's Museum

This popular museum will have not one but two celebrations! On May 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., enjoy Free Family Night with presentations, workshops, and more. Children will be able to test their creative skills by decorating and designing their own piñatas. The whole family will enjoy the colorful dances of the Ballet Folklorico de Las Américas that celebrate Mexico's heritage. On May 5, the party will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be more dancing and a performance by Mariachi Jarabe Tapatío, renowned for their lively performances of Mexican folk music. Dressed in vibrant charro costumes, the ensemble will showcase traditional instruments such as trumpets, violins, and guitars, transporting audiences to the heart of Mexican culture. All activities are included in general admission to the museum.
Mariachi Autlán de Houston

Mariachi Autlán, Houston's first elite Mariachi ensemble, will be playing from 5 to 7 p.m. all around POST to celebrate Cinco De Mayo! Renowned for excellence in upscale concerts and special events, they guarantee an unforgettable musical experience. Cinco de Mayo at Kemah Boardwalk

If you want to spend a day at the amusement park overlooking Galveston Bay, head to the Kemah Boardwalk. Take the whole family! At the beginning of the party, you can enjoy the presentation of Mexican folk dances. From 2 p.m., there will be Tejano music with a live performance by Son Vacilón and Roberto Pulido (until 10 p.m.). Various activities are also scheduled for children. Take advantage of your time in Kemah to enjoy its rides and games and taste delicious dishes in the park's restaurants.
Cinco de Mayo at Houston Restaurants and Bars
Houston is famous for its Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, and the Cinco de Mayo celebration is a perfect opportunity to explore it.
