Explore nature and see views of The Woodlands area like never before. The outdoor climbing adventure park called Texas TreeVentures is now open! Operated by The Woodlands Township, the three-level aerial course is located on the campus of The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park at 6464 Creekside Forest Drive. From way up high, you will be able to see some of the coolest views The Woodlands area has to offer.
“The course is directly adjacent to the expansive 1,800 acres of the George Mitchell Nature Preserve which is home to plenty of wildlife, several wooded pathways, and Spring Creek,” explains Chris Nunes, Director of Parks and Recreation for The Woodlands Township. “Texas TreeVentures is the perfect place to take your family and friends and challenge yourself to new heights!”
The supervised environment features layers of challenging and thrilling elements. A list of safety measures are in place to make sure everyone has fun and is safe during their trip. Participants always wear a helmet and are fitted with a harness and straps. It’s more than just a physical challenge, Texas TreeVentures offers a one-of-a-kind perspective.
“Texas TreeVentures is a unique facility in the Houston region and beyond,” explains Nunes. “It provides great access to the Spring Creek Recreation Corridor and gives users a chance to experience nature first hand in a fun, challenging and safe environment.”
Texas TreeVentures By The Numbers
70+ ways to have fun! TreeVentures features 70 challenging elements that make up the aerial course.
3 hours! Each visit is three hours long and includes gear-up, ground school and climb.
$35 for kids 12 and under. Anyone 13 and up will pay $40 for the three-hour trip.
70 inches. The height you must be able to reach when standing flat-footed to traverse the course independently.
6 years. The minimum age for participants. You also have to be at least 44 pounds and no greater than 275 pounds.
Texas TreeVentures is owned and operated by The Woodlands Township. The course is built to the standards of the Association of Challenge Course Technology specifications, among the most stringent ropes safety standards in the world. Every element of the Park is inspected daily and is re-certified to ACCT specifications every year. The Township’s Parks and Recreation Department operates the adventure course with ACCT trained staff.
“We look forward to having people out at the course so they can have their own natural experience up in the trees in The Woodlands,” said Nunes.
Feel free to pack a lunch - there are shelters and picnic areas nearby. The schedule is based on the time of year and the sunset calendars. The last reservation allowed on the course is three hours prior to sunset.
