Baytown is pulling out all the stops to celebrate America’s birthday with a free two-day festival filled with patriotic merriment. Festival goers will be treated to musical performances, tons of delicious food, shopping, and one of the best fireworks extravaganzas in the state.

The celebration starts off with a bang on Monday, July 3 at Bicentennial Park with performances by the Mambo Jazz Kings and the classic rock band, Grand Funk Railroad. Go back in time as you move to 70s classics like “The Loco-Motion” and “I’m Your Captain” performed by Grand Funk Railroad.

On Tuesday, July 4th, join in the fun at Baytown’s official celebration of freedom. The city will welcome country music superstar Josh Turner to the stage, but the day begins with music by the bands Picture Book at 4:30 p.m. and Al White and the Chaparral Band at 6 p.m. Turner, one of the deepest and most recognizable voices in country music, will take the main stage at 8 p.m. to treat you to an hour and a half of good tunes. From his 2003 platinum-selling debut song “Long Black Train,” to his most recent 2017 Billboard number one release, “Deep South,” expect to be wowed under the bright lights of the park pavilion and the star spangled banner.

The rockin’ red, white and blue concerts aren’t the only things on the agenda. Come prepared to shop at the scores of vendor booths, feast on delicious food from a large assortment of food trucks, and let the kiddos have a bang up good time at the festival’s kid play zone.

On July 4, you can also catch a parade that marches down Market Street featuring dance groups, parade floats, classic and military vehicles and a veterans group baring the colors of our nation. At night, following Josh Turner’s concert, enjoy an impressive fireworks display accompanied by the music of a special guest DJ.

So pack up your lawn chairs, sunscreen, and water because a festival this large is going to be hot. And make sure you remember the festival’s rules. No alcohol, glass containers, firearms, or animals are permitted on the park grounds. Food, drinks, and sno-cones can be purchased from the food trucks at the event, but coolers with non-alcoholic drinks and food are allowed. Finally, don’t forget the most important rule of all: have fun!
