Uptown Sporting Club, opened on July 4th, is bringing a fresh take on Houston’s sports bar scene. Located at 1131 Uptown Park Blvd., Suite 1, the approximately 5,000-square-foot venue features a 4,000-square-foot interior and a 1,000-square-foot patio that transitions from happy hour and game-day gatherings to late-night cocktails, DJs, and nightlife.

Created by hospitality veterans Roveen Abante (Galleria Conservatory, BurgerChan, Sushi Rebel, Dropshots) and Daniel Chang (Uptown Sushi, Sushi Rebel), Uptown Sporting Club was created to enhance the traditional sports bar experience by combining exceptional hospitality, elevated bar fare, and a lively social atmosphere that evolves throughout the day and night.

"We didn't set out to build another sports bar," said co-owner Roveen Abante. “We created a sporting cocktail lounge that transforms into nightlife - a place where people can come together to watch a big game, enjoy great food and cocktails, and stay far beyond the final whistle. It's an experience built around community, hospitality, and memorable moments."

Ready to become one of Houston’s premier destinations for locals and international visitors alike, Uptown Sporting Club is designed to be the city’s year-round gathering place for sports, entertainment, and nightlife. Long after this summer’s soccer matches conclude, the venue will serve as headquarters for Texans Sundays, Astros playoff runs, Rockets games, UFC championship fights, Premier League matches, March Madness, the Super Bowl, major hockey matchups, WNBA games, and more—creating an all-day, all-night destination for every major sporting moment.

Designed by Sparrow Studio in collaboration with Abante and brought to life by TDK Builders, the interior fluently blends timeless sophistication with subtle, intentionally curated nods to the world of sports. Rich wood finishes, polished brass accents, soft seating, and dramatic barrel-vaulted ceilings inspired by whiskey barrels establish an inviting atmosphere, while custom metal artwork celebrating legendary athletes contributes character throughout the space. As the evening advances, multi-layered lighting, immersive audio, and dynamic visual elements transform the space from an elevated sports lounge into one of Houston's newest nightlife destinations.

The venue features eight large-screen televisions and a 115-inch LED screen for premium sports viewing, complemented by state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and video systems by Dreamland Productions.
