Sometimes the best way to see holiday lights is to get away from the bright lights of the big city. From Galveston to Conroe, there are plenty of cool ways to see holiday lights just a short drive from Houston.
Galveston's Downtown Lanterns & Lights
November 24 - January 1
This holiday season, historic downtown Galveston will be illuminated by lighting and décor stretching throughout downtown from 20th to 25th streets on The Strand as well as along 23rd and Post office streets. Downtown Lanterns & Lights will feature a magical display of lights and other holiday-themed attractions in Saengerfest Park and beyond, including an interactive photo frame and giant snow globe for visitors to enjoy on designated weekends.
Sugar Land Holiday Lights
November 23 - January 1
Celebrate the season in the most magical way at the 5th Annual Sugar Land Holiday Lights presented by Imperial Sugar. The sparkling wonderland features more than 2.5 million lights, eight themed areas, holiday shopping, great food and more at Constellation Field in Sugar Land. They also have holiday movie nights, Santa Claus visits and more.
Beaumont Neighborhood Lights
A Christmas tradition for years, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont always creates a beautiful holiday lights display. You can see an ornate nativity scene and lights decorating dozens of trees on the property. Then, check out the homes on Thomas Road where there are many large homes decorated with lights. One homeowner does an elaborate “12 days of Christmas” theme. Other areas to check out include Calder Place neighborhood, Off Delaware in the Ashton, Montclaire and Delaware Place neighborhoods. Some of the roads have homes where you can sync with your radio for the sound and light effects.
