Houston, our favorite time of the year, is back! What better way to support local restaurants than by participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW)? This is a 61-day event (Aug.1-Sept.30), during which participating restaurants offer prix fixe and to-go menus. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Houston Food Bank.

From August 1 through September 2, participating restaurants will donate $2 from the $25 lunch and brunch menus, $5 from the $39 dinner menus and $7 from the $55 dinner menus. For the rest of September, they will donate $1 for each HRW meal sold. With more than 200 restaurants participating, we know choosing can be challenging. Here are our top 10 menus to get you started. For a complete list of participating restaurants and menus, visit houstonrestaurantweeks.com. Reservations are recommended.

The Za'atar Hummus and Grilled Summer Vegetables or Ceviche Roll are on deck for first course, followed by red fish, a short ribs or risotto for the main course. Finish it all up with the "Berry Summer" or "Just Bananas" (which, by the way, is not actually just bananas), and you've had yourself a pretty epic meal.
