Norigami, the monthly sushi hand roll pop-up that launched in 2021 from The Hidden Group opened their first location in the Fall of 2023 near Rice Village. With two distinct spaces, the intimate restaurant and speakeasy-style bar seat 24 guests. The menu includes favorites from the monthly pop-ups with appetizers including Salmon Crudo with Asian pear, agua chile and micro celery; Hamachi Crudo made with ponzu, cilantro, truffle and serranos; and Steak & Eggs featuring pickled red onions, creamy steak sauce, quail egg, caviar and toast. The signature handroll options can be ordered separately or as a set include Yellowtail with cucumber and agua chile; Spicy Scallops with chili garlic aioli, yuzu tobiko and avocado; and Toro featuring jicama and fried leeks. The spot will also offer signature cocktails and a selection of wine, sake and beer.
Tucked inside Norigami is a stylish speakeasy, Hidden Bar, the perfect spot to lounge, have a small snack or enjoy a cocktail while waiting for your table. The bar features Origami cranes hanging from the entire ceiling, a sign of prosperity and heaven.
The space highlights an Ace of Spades champagne wall. Hidden Bar will serve wine, beer, sake, and champagne as well as specialty cocktails from bartender Hao Ma, most recently of Bludorn and Wooster’s. The space offers a speakeasy entrance, similar to its sister restaurant Hidden Omakase. The concept’s industrial aesthetic works in tandem with color-pop LED’s to embody the essence of Tokyo’s night strolls through their bustling urban cityscape. A minimalistic accent wall of rich wood-tone slats and decorative shelves of origami cranes pay homage to Norigami’s identity and craft. Finally, the Instagram worthy restrooms have mesmerizing infinity doors leading into monochromatic space-rooms.
