Houston is a great big city and a small town. It has lots of wonderful places to enjoy art, music, fashion and great cuisine while still maintaining a small town attitude. Houstonians are wonderfully warm people that are quick to embrace and welcome everyone to our home. Prepare to lose yourself in Houston, you will be surprised.

What surprises me about Houston?  It is the example of the American Dream. Anyone with a dream and the right desire and work ethic can succeed. Houston is a place of opportunity due to its amazing people and its many industries from finance, health care, energy and fashion.

My favorite places to eat—tough around Houston because of all the great restaurants. I love making quick jaunts over to Azuma after a long day's work enjoying the escolar and Craig’s new creations. For the best steaks, mojitos, chili mac & cheese—hands down Fleming's is the place to enjoy a nice evening with superb service. Sitting outside and listening to great live bands and enjoying nice Italian cuisine Grappino Di Nino is amazing. Other restaurants on my weekly rounds are Armandos for the guacamole and Mia Bella for the halibut.

My favorite places to shop are Neiman Marcus and Tootsies for all of my shows and magazine layouts. Nothing I can’t find there.

My ideal day in Houston is getting up early in the morning with my husband and spending some hours at my studio creating new jewelry designs. I then go over to the Houstonian and lose myself in the gym and spa. The evening is then ended with a nice dinner and possibly a drink at Hotel Zaza on my way home in the museum district.

My Houston is my studio. I try to recreate the wonderful opportunities for all of my employees that all of my friends have given me since I arrived in Houston. My success has been directly correlated to the many wonderful, supportive people that I have met since I arrived in Houston.
