Looking for a new and unforgettable experience in Houston in November? The first-ever Fleet Week Houston (November 5-12) is one not to miss! The entire city is gearing up for this impressive event, which is a traditional public celebration of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.
The tradition traces back to 1935, when a large gathering of warships was held in San Diego during the California Pacific International Exposition. The first organized Fleet Week celebrations focused primarily on ship displays and basic demonstrations. Nowadays, Fleet Week celebrations occur throughout the year across different American cities, with each location hosting its own unique event.
Besides offering the opportunity for the public to board and tour military ships, each Fleet Week fosters connections between the public and the military through various events, including band performances and community outreach programs.

Fleet Week Houston will mark the first time the U.S. Navy has brought this tradition to Texas, featuring three naval vessels and more than 1,000 sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen. The week-long lineup includes ship tours, family-oriented activities, educational outreach, community service projects, business forums, and lively celebrations. Houston will also host the U.S. Marine Corps’ 250th birthday on Nov. 10 and celebrate the Navy’s year-long commemoration of its own 250th anniversary.
The City of Houston, Houston First Corporation, Port of Houston, Harris County Precinct 2, and other local partners are enthusiastic about showcasing the region’s hospitality to service members and visitors.
